BPA, short for Bisphenol A, is an industrial chemical historically used in certain plastics and resins, particularly in hard plastic containers and drink bottles. Over the years, BPA has become one of the most discussed chemicals in the wellness space due to concerns surrounding how it may interact with the human body. Researchers have explored whether BPA exposure may interfere with hormones and endocrine function, leading many consumers to seek BPA free alternatives for products they use daily.

Why BPA Became A Concern
Public concern surrounding BPA increased significantly after multiple studies investigated whether chemicals from certain plastic bottles could migrate into beverages and ultimately enter the body.
One widely discussed study from researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health found that participants who drank cold beverages from polycarbonate bottles experienced significantly increased urinary BPA concentrations after just one week of use. The study observed a 69 percent increase in BPA concentration overall, with even higher levels among participants who used the bottles more consistently.
Researchers also noted that participants only consumed cold beverages during the study, meaning exposure may potentially increase further when bottles are exposed to heat. The findings contributed to growing international discussions surrounding the safety of BPA in consumer products and helped increase public awareness about the importance of BPA free alternatives.
As consumers became more informed, many people started paying closer attention to the products they use every day, especially items closely associated with health and wellness.

The name Eletrunk® was inspired by elephants and their instinctive relationship with water. Elephants are known for travelling vast distances to locate water sources, remembering them for years, and guiding their families toward hydration for survival and wellbeing.
In nature, water is treated as essential, not optional.
That philosophy became central to our brand. We wanted Eletrunk® to represent intentional hydration and a return to simple habits that genuinely support wellbeing.
The name combines “Ele” from elephant and “Trunk,” symbolising both the elephant’s trunk and the idea of carrying what matters.
